About Markus

Markus is 56 years old and loves spending time in nature and being active. He lives with scoliosis as well as an incomplete, progressive tetraplegia, which increasingly reduces his upper body stability and makes lateral balance more difficult.

Challenge

Markus has bought a new handbike. However, due to his scoliosis, it is difficult for him to use due to the uncomfortable backrest and the lack of individual adjustments. For his personal wheelchair he has a tailored backrest, but it's not possible to purchase something like this for handbikes. Additionally, Markus would love to have an attachment for his regular wheelchair, so he can do multiple-day-trips with his handbike (and wheelchair). Last but not least, the bike has other potential smaller things to improve, e.g. the pedals, ...
